Common complaints with the AOD-E and 4R70W transmission are delayed forward engagement and harsh 1-2 shifts caused by the 1-2 accumulator bore in the case being worn or scored. This wear results in the loss of 2nd clutch pressure and the need to replace the case. To salvage these expensive cases and to restore the 1-2 shifts, Sonnax has developed 76890-01K, a 1-2 accumulator sleeve and piston kit. This kit is a drop-in solution and requires no machining to the transmission case.
