This package deal master rebuild kit includes:

The Transtec gasket set included in this overhaul banner box kit is the highest quality available. The set includes every rubber seal, paper gasket, O-ring, sealing rings, and metal clad seals that you will need to complete your rebuild. The Transtec gasket sets are considered a premium kit, with higher quality gaskets and seals throughout.

Torque converter: The torque converter that comes in this kit is balanced, pressure tested, and has the heavy-duty brazed turbine and Torrington bearings. This torque converter has a stock stall speed and will be fine for up to 500 hp.

The Transgo SK-700Jr shift kit fixes the following 700R4 problems:

  • Stuck throttle valve
  • Late or no upshifts
  • 3-4 clutch failure
  • Soft or slide-bump 1-2 shift
  • 2-3 shift cut-loose or flare
  • Shuttle 4-3-4-3
  • Soft overdrive up-shifts

Along with fixing these common 700-R4 problems, you'll also see an increase in the life of your transmission due to the reduced slipping.

Remember to soak all of your clutches in transmission fluid for thirty minutes before you install them.

The 700-R4 and its variants were in production from 1982-1993 and can be identified by the square, 16 bolt oil pan and 4 forward gears.  1992-1993 are cross-over years.  If you are unsure of your model, the 700R4 will have a square wire plug with 2-4 wires, which are only for the lockup in the torque converter.

The TH700-R4 was found in the full range of General Motors vehicles including, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac.

These transmissions can be found in the following vehicles; however you should double check your application with the 16 bolt pan count and square shape. It is common for similar vehicles to have multiple transmission options available from the factory.

First time automatic transmission builder, found this kit and thought it would be everything I needed but did not include a rebuild kit for the front pump. Other than that this kit is super convenient and well priced.

This kit has everything you need for your rebuild. It allows you to upgrade different parts and pieces as needed. The prices are good and reasonable. Shipping was very fast. The people at OPT answered my questions right away. That had just as much to do with me ordering this kit from them as the low prices did. I would recommend purchasing the assembly book also offered at OPT it really helps.

700r4 master rebuild kit
Was under the impression by the product description that all 5 clutch disc's and steel were in the kit. Turn's out they are not. No 3-4 clutch's in this kit. I did purchase a Z pak for the 3-4 clutch but would like the option when I build it. There was no discount on the price of the kit for only 4 clutch set's in it.
Thank you for the purchase and review. Under this listing, you will receive a 3-4 clutch pack. The add-on for the Z-Pak is an upgrade of the stock pack to the Z-Pak. The price of the upgrade has the discount built in compared to buying the clutches individually. When you upgrade, you will not receive the stock pack, but we upgrade the kit at that point to the better 3-4 clutches. You will not receive two 3-4 clutch packs with the upgrade. You will receive the required one, which is what is needed to rebuild the transmission. Thank you again, OPT
