Vehicles with a front-wheel-drive Chrysler transmission (A404, A413, A470 & A670) have problems with breakage of the rear band strut, resulting in a no reverse situation. The thin section of the original equipment spring steel strut often cannot withstand the force of the servo piston rod as it applies the reverse band. This material does not have sufficient yield strength to prevent the strut from bending or breaking during high pressure situations. The Sonnax direct replacement reverse band strut 32710-01 will withstand the force that occurs during the apply of the band.
