A common problem with a THM 700-R4 transmission is a burned band and/or 3-4 clutch. This failure can be reduced by eliminating throttle boost oil leakage. The Sonnax replacement assembly77917-500 eliminates these problems with two closely toleranced, hardened steel parts: a throttle valve boost valve and an o-ringed throttle valve boost sleeve. The o-rings on the sleeve separate the throttle pressure and reverse boost circuits, thus providing additional protection against cross leaks in 4L60(THM 700-R4) applications. These o-rings also prevent oil loss between the outside diameter of the throttle valve sleeve and the pump body. 77917-04K is a "Factory" style throttle boost valve without o-rings.
