A very common part to be replaced in your automatic transmission is the accumulator piston. In many models, these pistons can be plastic and will break over time, leading to transmission failure. Other models are the molded or bonded rubber type and should be replaced during your rebuild, or even during other repairs within the pan. In many cases, the accumulator replacement can be an upgrade and a noticeable improvement can be felt in the shift quality. Browse below for options for your transmission model. In some cases, we have upgraded pistons in high quality billet aluminum.
