Low gear planetary set for the Ford C6 transmission

This kit will lower your 1st gear ratio to 2.71:1 from your stock 2.46:1. Second gear will be lowered to 1.53:1 from 1.46:1.
This C6 low gear kit includes the following parts:
- Steel 6 pinion forward planetary
- Torrington bearings for planetary
- Planetary ring gear
- Ring gear hub
- Rear sun gear
- Sun gear shell
This kit will increase your acceleration and towing capability without changing your rear-end gears. Highway RPM’s will remain the same since 3rd gear is unchanged.
It is recommended that you check your endplay during installation. OPT recommends an end-play of .008”-.015” for all C6 transmissions. Tighter tolerances are achieved with selective thrust washers or shims for the pump.
The C6 was in production from 1966-1996 and can be identified by the 17 bolt oil pan and 3 forward gears.
The C-6 was found in the full range of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles; including cars, trucks, vans, and SUV’s.
