The detent ball in the valve body wears into the aluminum bore due to continuous movement and vibration of the linkage. This creates excessive looseness in the manual valve lever and allows the manual valve to move out of alignment. No start or delayed engagements can occur from the manual valve being out of position, due to extra clearance. This condition often requires that the valve body be replaced. Sonnax has developed a precision steel sleeve that restores the worn bore and allows the valve body to be salvaged. A replacement ball is also included. The bore must be oversized using the self-guiding bench reamer included in Sonnax tool kit 22771-TL12. A .096" diameter drill bit is also included to allow the retaining pin hole to be redrilled for use with the OEM pin. The sleeve and tool kit are designed to fit both the short and long OEM detent bore designs.
