The OEM E4OD and 4R100 accumulator control valves can shut off flow to the clutches. Under high pressure shifts the valve is allowed to stroke too far, which causes the valve to hang up. The Sonnax kits 36948-09K & -13K resolve these problems. Step in valve spool diameter acts as an orifice to keep fluid flow to clutches at all times and eliminate premature clutch failure. Stiffer retaining clip prevents overstroking. Annular groove keeps valve centered in bore. Spring shims allow for selective increase of apply pressure and shift feel. Bore sizing tool cleans and de-burrs valve bores to allow salvage of accumulator bodies.
