Overheating is a common problem in Honda/Acura vehicles equipped with four or five-speed transmissions. This condition can be caused by a worn or stuck TC check valve. A malfunctioning torque converter check valve will reduce the working pressure in the torque converter, which leads to excess heat buildup and TCC troubles.
In some cases the TC check valve bore can be heavily worn, requiring an O-ring seal for proper repair. Restore correct converter pressure and prevent overheating and valve hang-up by installing this O-ringed TC check valve kit from Sonnax.
Some OE castings are machined with an edge remaining at the relief ports; this kit can be used to salvage those castings as well. The o-ring helps seal heavily worn bores, and the sleeve provides additional valve support to reduce excess wear and sticking.
